Hi...i have recently been offered nova sure for heavy bleeding...as i did not want the coil fitted and this is another option.

nova sure is Endometrial ablation its a procedure to permanently remove a thin tissue layer of the lining of the uterus to stop or reduce excessive or abnormal bleeding in women for whom childbearing is complete.

f you have had this done i would love to hear how it has made a difference to your period..if any and would you recomend it thanks in advance.

    Hi, Jane,

I haven't had this, but there is a company sponsored web-site you can check out if you haven't done so already.

    Best of luck!

Thanks Lynda...i have checked it out on the NHs website...it all looks good...a bit too good...as it can stop your periods completly or they will be a lot lighter...i am wondering about any after affects though

Yea, I know what you mean...there are always consequences, and not all of them are revealed.  I think that the medical profession just hopes it all works out for the best, which is why complications don't get discussed, especially in the USA!

Best of luck to you!  Let me know what you decide!

I was offered this or the mirena coil for heavy bleeding aswell. Im on Utolvan ( Norithesone) tablets. I didnt want either, just personal choice as i know both have worked and not worked for others. The tablets at the moment are suiting me but if i start to have problems on them then i suppose i will have to have one of these options. Let us know what you decide x

I had a thermol ablation and I couldnt be happier.  I have not had a period since.  I was bleeding for 2 months straight and prior to that had a period every 21 day, (my entire life).  I was done.  I am definately suffering hot flashes...SEVERE and decided to go on prempro, after suffering for over a year with a hot flash every 18 minutes.  Not sure if the ablation is the reason for the flashes, but my mom has sever flashes for the last 30 years so it may just be hereditary.
