Hi. 2 half weeks since my operation

C5 /C6 Corpectomy & cage & plate.

I was diagnosed Sciatica 13 yrs ago. Always suffered severe lower back pain. Over these years i have tried & paid private for alternative treatments..

I was shocked to hear this year that i had cervical myelothopy.

Both my legs went numb / heavy 6 months ago.

I struggle to walk in a straight line / balance issues.

Followed by weakness of hands.

I had to go on sick from work, due to walking difficulties.

Im only 2 half weeks post operative.

Please, please. Can anyone tell me that my bad legs will improve in time.

Its still early days yet. But at 53 yrs old , i dont & cant envisage a life of poor walking ability.

The op sounded so SCARY. But it was not so bad.

I was home next day. Im well & raring to go.

Does anyone know if numbness in legs get better.

?????? I had my op in Leeds. Help. X

    Hi

Time will tell...the nerves could wake up all at once or very slowly over time

Perhaps you can work with a physical therapist to maximize outcome.

What kind of cage was used?  And how is your recovery?
