NSFW: What's Your Opinion? Any Tips? - Pictures Included

Hello All,

I hope you're well today!

I've been experiencing vaginal discomfort (i.e. itching) for the past 4-5 days and noticed some serious visible changes today.

I accidently bought and used fragranced wet wipes on my vulva ~5-6 days ago.

A day or so later, I started experiencing itching and soreness inside my labia minora (i.e. the papule were irritated and itchy). I promptly discontinued the use of the wet wipes after I noticed my purchasing error.

I assumed that the symptoms would subside and that the wet wipes were the culprit, but this morning, I noticed white spots inside my labia minora (located on the vestibule). It's extremely concerning and I'm unsure of what it could be.

If anyone has any insight into this (along with any tips to sooth the itch), it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! [Please try not to judge me too harshly.]

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • I had unprotected sex with boyfriend ~9 days ago and used a boric acid suppository afterwards prevent bacterial vaginosis.
  • I inserted a probiotic vaginally ~7-8 days ago.
  • I inserted another boric acid suppository when I noticed the itching inside my labia ~4-5 days ago.
  • Unfortunately, I have been rubbing my labia when washing it (with Ivory soap) and wiping (after using the restroom) as it soothes the itch.

*** I haven't notice a change in discharge odor/texture nor does my "actual vagina" itch (it's just the papuble on my labia minora). I'm also currently ovulating. **

  • I have an GYN appointment at Planned Parenthood in 2 weeks.

UPDATE: I couldn't wait for the PP appointment, so after a $185 Doctor's Care visit (included a $50 STD screening - herpes culture not included), I was prescribed a 7-day regimen of metronidazole.

Apparently, I have bacterial vaginosis YET AGAIN (first time was in April 2019). This is actually a relief because I thought it was something much worse.

I spoke to my boyfriend and we are going to try abstaining from sex for awhile (I'm actually excited about this). At the very least, we will use condoms and he will be more mindful of his genital hygiene.

My vagina is eager to have a much needed break! She is quite finicky and clearly wants to be left alone.

I will be taking probiotics while I'm taking the antibiotics and I won't be using suppositories anymore.

Thank you all for all the input! I'm a happy camper.

Diana, glad you got in to see someone!

    1. I would recommend that you stop the ivory soap, asap. Most of us with LS have been told to wash with water only. If you feel you need some on rare occasions, use Dove unscented. But sparingly with no wash cloth.
    2. Keep the area moisturized ...I use either aloe vera gel (unscented), coconut oil, or vaseline. Keeping it moisturized will help with the itch.
    3. I think your itch will improve with today's treatment, but I find that I am prone to external yeasts...I use nystatin, but I think that clotrimazole is an otc that you can use if/when you think you might have an external yeast growing.
    4. I find the aloe vera gel very soothing if I'm irritated. I get a bottle at walmart for cheap...just be sure it is "pure aloe vera gel" with no alcohol.
    5. If you still have itch, try an ice pack.
