Nuclear Bone Scan Question

Hi- how long after an antibiotic can you get a nuclear bone scan? I read somewhere it doesn’t affect the results from a study that was conducted. Also - I had a tooth extracted 3 months ago- will it light up in that area automatically because I had a procedure there?

What about Gallium Scan... is that worth it? My ent made a comment about it being old school method.

Thanks

    Hi again,

I’ve no idea if antibiotics cause a problem with a bone scan but I’ve had a few of them and they have never asked me about them before the scan.

I just had a nuclear medicine joint scan of my major joints which lit up like a Christmas tree in my ankles, hips, shoulder, thumbs. I did notice my jaw that the osteomyelitis is in lit up also.

I hope all goes well with you and the scan. Please let us know what happens.
