Numb foot for 5 weeks and swelling

I have had a numb leg from knee to toes for 5 weeks now. I've had sciatica 3 times before but this time I have no back pain at all. I've had mri blood tests and waiting to see a neurologist. I was wondering if anyone who has been diagnosed with nerve damage has had any of these symptoms. I'm only 27 and it's starting to get me down.

I had sciatica recently and it has left me with numbness on the side of my leg and half my foot. A friend said he had the same problem with sciatica.

Yes, I had the usual horrendous sciatic pain which went on for several weeks. I had had it a year previously too. I had physio for it and thank goodness it went away. I then found I had numbness down the outside of my leg and half my foot. I am not sure if it happened during the sciatica or after. Possibly during, but the pain was so bad I probably did not notice.
