i had to keep drinkin water, 2nd night i had little bit of numbness, it only last 10 mins, i don't want my throat to close up!

is this normal? or could i be allergic.tho if was allergic im sure it would of been worse.

i was on prozac for 1 week but side affects were bad, so was given mirt..

Hi clare you really need to allow more time for the mirtazapine to work. Allow at least two to four weeks for the drug to kick in. You could ask the doctor to change from dissolvable tablets to ordinary ones? Is there a reason why you can't swallow ordinary tablets. The numbing that you are feeling is probably a natural reaction to the tablet disolving on your tongue. Initially 15mg made me feel very drowsy not just at night but during the day as well. The lower doses often help people to sleep although mirtazapine is primarily an anti depressant. Pooh.

i hate swollowin tablets unless there small. coz im lactose intol, i have a list of medicines i can have and only the dissolvable one is on it,

i know it prob the taste that numbs me, but if keeps carrying on then will have to change, but don't wanna keep spending money on med that i aint gonna take for long..

i'm sorry that you are still experiencing difficulties. Would it be possible to eat a tiny amount of your favourite food or drink (not alcohol) directly after having the tablet? That way you would forget the numbness and enjoy the other sensations on your tongue. Clear it with your doctor/CPM and see what they think?

your reactions are normal. tell me.. did you have the disolve in the mouth version or the swallow version? im on 45mg of the mofo's to swallow and "melt in the mouth" mofo's. the simple fact is that they have calmed me down a treat and i no longer need to hurt anyone.

    i hope this helps
