Numbness, 15 weeks postpartum

Since my C-Section 15 weeks ago I have felt very stiff. I was worried I may be getting arthritis so I went to my doctor and he took some blood tests. The results showed "slightly elevated liver enzymes" in my blood. I was told that this was quite common and to book repeat tests in 8 weeks time. I have my repeat tests booked for next week. Yesterday however I noticed that as I was scratching my left lower leg it felt numb - as if I'd had a local anesthetic there and it was starting to wear off. I can feel the pressure of me scratching but the sensation is not clear. I went for a 3 mile walk yesterday and felt no pain or ache from it, it's just numb. Today I noticed the same numbness around my C-Section scar. Has anyone else experience this? I'm beginning to get worried that there might be something really wrong with me.

Hi. I really don't think there is anything to be concerned about. Elevated liver enzymes is very common, and if your doctor simply wants to repeat blood tests in several weeks, s/he is not concerned. It sounds like your doctor simply wants to give your body a chance to return to normal. Going through a C-section is no small thing, and will take your body time to fully recover and return to normal numbers. Hope this helps.
