Numbness following TAH and ovaries removal

hello all

sorry me again looking for advice, as you are aware I had my op last Monday, since then I had issues with going to the toilet both ways due to lack of sensation.

Ive had the nurse bladder scan me and I'm emptying ok, so can manage to push, but worried about going out? I make sure I go for a wee every four hours but worried about the other. Can I ask is this normal, has anyone experienced this? I've also not experienced any pain, spoken to my Consulatant who says it will return, am I being impatient?

Hello. Do you know you've posted this on the HRT forum and not the genitourinary forum where you'll get more replies? The problem you're having is probably due to some swelling and bruising from when you had the catheter in place following your operation. It should settle and I would just continue doing what you're already doing

Hi I had real problems with constipation after and found it hard to feel the urge to push. I ended up using breathing to help negotiate the passage as I really felt like I had no normal contraction feelings you get if that makes sense. Breathing like I used when giving birth :-). I did return to a semblance of normal but I can't remember exactly when. I say that as I have had irritable bowel syndrome beforehand. I was numb for quite awhile after especially around the scar itself for a good few months but the feeling came back eventually. Now it looks like a faint line 2 years later on one side anyways as I had a haematoma and that made the scar uneven where it overhealed.

It all sounds fairly normal to me but I know how worrying it is with each new development!
