Numbness in hand

Hi. I am experiencing what I think are signs of a neurological problem and I want to arm myself with as much information before I go to the doctor. Here are the things that concern me:

- For about three weeks I have woken up with a "dead" left hand. I am not sleeping on it, it just goes numb overnight. Every night.

- The feeling of numbness and tingling often lasts throughout the day and run along the right side of the palm towards the little finger.

- The top half of the fingers on my left hand are very cold all the time

- I have been getting swollen lymph nodes under the jaw that come and go but no other signs of infection

- I have felt a lot of weakness and aches in both hands

- Last week I started to have similar sensations in my left foot, with the numbness running along the same "line" as the tingling in my hand

- I recently had gout (podagra) in my left foot and occasionally get twinges of intense pain in the joint. I am 34, ideal weight and female. I don't drink beer or eat organ meat.

- I have burning pain in a few joints of the hands. The joints (index finger knuckles) feel warm to the touch and quite similar to the gout pain

- I have to pee a lot lately. To the point where it is really disrupting my daily routine. Sometimes I need to go three times in 15 minutes

- I regularly go to donate blood and often fail the Hb test

- I have tried the usual carpal tunnel syndrome wrist-flex tests with no positive results

Any advice or ideas that would help me get the right diagnosis when I go to the doctor would be most appreciated. Worried that I will be fobbed off without all possible underlying causes being considered.

Thank you.

My symptoms started this way and I have been diagnosed with vitamin b12 deficiency and vitamin d deficiency. Ensure your b12, folate, ferritin, vit d, thyroid and full blood count are tested. Neuro symptoms may be due to lack of b12 and joint pain and weakness may be vit d deficiency xx

Thank you! I had considered this as there is pernicious anemia in the family.

Pernicious anaemia is hereditary. Ensure you get copies of your blood results as we are often told normal when in fact we are deficient. The BCSH cobalamin guidelines state 200 is deficient but most labs have their normal range much lower. I know one lab is as low as 120.
