Numbness in Neck Area

Posted , 2 users are following.

Good day to everyone.

I was wondering if I can get some advice before making an appointment to see my doctor.

I have quite extensive arthitius in my neck and spine. Painkillers that I am using are working quite well at the moment....Thank God !.

I have now started to have slight numbness in my neck. I can feel okay around the side of the neck, but, the back of the nape and slightly up into the head, I can not feel much. It ranges from total numbness to slight sensation.

Do you think I should be at all worried about this or not.

Thank you to anyone that reads this, it is most appreciated.

It sounds like something is pressing on a nerve to cause the numbness.

      Hi ptolemy

      Thanks for answering.

I do know, and I should have said, that my condition does press onto my spinal cord. What I should have asked is whether this is a sign that it is, or could be, getting worse because of this numbness as it as never happened before.

      Many thanks once again.

If it's a symptom that hasn't occurred before, then it is something that is worth being looked at, just in case.
