Numbness remains after surgery

How long should I expect numbness after surgery to remove a tumor in my left parotid gland? Numbness of my ear and sections, of my face and neck, this will be week 6.
Thanks

Hi,
It might take a long while and I was warned I might not get sensation in my ear lobe again. My sensation gradually came back and to be honest, I got use to it feeling different and didn't notice. I'm 14 months post op and I think I have normal sensation everywhere now. Good luck.

Thank you for that information, I won't wonder why it's taking so long then. Another question for you...
Did you have a dry mouth and sinuses before and after surgery?
Thanks

No I didn't have a dry mouth before or after surgery. I didn't have any symptoms other than a swelling. My tumour was found when I was being scanned for something else.

Hi Patricia,
I had dry mouth before and after submandibular gland removal. I'm 2 weeks post op and the dry mouth has not gone yet. Do you still have dry mouth? Or if not, how long did it last? It's really causing me anxiety...

Waiting for a final diagnosis, they've eliminated non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma but not Hodgkin's Lymphoma or Sjogren's Syndrome. Not sure why it is taking so long to get a final diagnosis.
