Numbness & tingling in feet, legs and hands

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I have had numbness in my right leg and foot for some time now accompanied by low back pain especially in the coccyx and that area. I have had a MRI scan and all ok. The numbness is now present in both legs, feet, arms and hands and is now a tingling feeling with numbness and a little pain in the back of legs. The pain is not all the time. I have had a full blood count blood test and all good, seen a chiropractor with no improvement. I have been drinking alcohol more than i should for some time but find it strange the numbness and back problems started at the same time.

any ideas??

many thanks

Had you been on any medication that may have caused the numbness ? Cipro and fluoroquinlone antibiotics can do that even a long time after having been prescribed and can be triggered later by other medications.

The back pain may be caused by a change of gait due to the numbness as in my case.

I havent been on any medication apart from gabapentin but only for 2 weeks! I havent heard of gait in the back but will ask my GP. Just strange and want some answers. I have an appointment with my GP this week to ask if its a vitamin problem but will see.

Gait is the way you walk. Any change in the way you walk can cause back problem. Are you having a problem with walking due to the numbness ?

Gabapentin a nasty drug was presumably prescribed for your initial numbness. You really need to see a neurologist.
