Numbness upper part of base of feet 18 months after L4/L5 fusion

Hi

Why am I getting this numbness (which is more pronounced when I am wearing socks and shoes than when I am bare footed)?

How can I address this situation? I can live with it but it feels strange walking.

Thank you, Jeremy

Sorry but I have the same thing. Adjacent joints compressing nerve now. The only option left for me is another fusion that would decompress the nerve, but I know that would bring on other issues from an inflexable spine. I suspect you may be suffering the same result. It sucks but to resolve it would create more issues is what I was told and surmized myself. Also, another fusion might not resolve the issue completely anyway. The way it was once described to me was to imagine the compressed nerve bundle to be like a sheet of folded paper. You can onfold the paper, but you will never get the crease out; may never get the damage of the compression to return to normal. Good luck and I hope it turns out OK
