OA symptoms and mold

OK all I just need to tell you this because it’s happened in my life. Exposure to mold made my osteoarthritis 90% worse. I would wake up at 3:30 AM my body throbbing from head to toe in every joint in my hand as well. We had changed apartments because the last one had mold in it and the toxicity specialist said that all clothes had to be cleaned in hot water and anything like porous that could absorb mold needed to be thoroughly shampooed. I’ve been living at the Marriott for a month and a half as they tore down the entire bathroom in my old apartment. According to the toxicity specialist when they did that they kicked up all kinds of mold that was free floating in the entire apartment. So we completely wash all clothes and chairs… Meanwhile at the Marriott the only thing bothering me was my neck or I have a little arthritis in it I have more pain than what the x-ray showed. And then pain in my knee… So we move into this new apartment and that’s when I started my conversations on this site… I would wake up at 3:30 every morning riving in pain throbbing all throughout my entire body I would take two tramadol‘s two Advil and two Tylenols I will go back to sleep and wake up feeling better but completely nauseous. That nausea lasted all day long! So we did this test and I went to a nice hotel spent the night woke up with a little stiffness in my neck are sore thumb and a little stiffness in my knees because of a Baker cyst and moderate arthritis there. I feel like a human being again… My husband stayed back at the apartment with our dogs only a half a mile away… I asked him if He shampooed our pillow top bed and he had not. That is the only thing I could think of is that when they were working in steering of the mold take gotten to that part of the bed. I don’t know what to do I don’t want to go back into that apartment! We’re moving to Arizona in four months… I just don’t know what to do I don’t want to be sick like that all the time !
The main reason I’m writing this is if you have any MOLD IN YOUR AIR CONDITIONING VENT AND FILTER AS WELL AS THE FILTER IN YOUR HEATING VENT BEHIND YOUR WASHER AND DRYER those are the greater chances were mold would be and if you’re sensitive to it like me, not allergic, sensitive which gives you infectious diseases check these areas where you live!

Thank you for this information. I had never thought of mold as a problem for arthritis. I know it's bad for asthma and breathing problems but never considered it with regard to arthritis.
Cheers

There are two different responses to mold an allergic one which symptoms are cough weezing runny nose
Then there is a more serious set of symptoms for individuals, like myself, who are mold sensitive
Those symptoms include
Migraines
Nausea
Depression
Anxiety
Immune compromised conditions (there’s a vast amount right there)
Chronic Fatigue
Throbbing joints
An inability to get over infections
This list shows no limits!
I had every single symptom listed above
I wanted to die
I’m arthritic today
Arthritis hasn’t touched my 91 year old Dad and my 96yr old Mother
Getting out of that apartment gave me a new start
Hopefully if anyone has some of these symptoms you can go to your Apartment director and ask for a specialist to come out (on their dime) to check for any type of mold... it does NOT need to just be black mold.
Important: mold spores change in the air from hour to hour so even having our mold tested in the air at the time the specialist was out there for almost 2hours he saw substantial mold and said it could be the reason for all my illnesses!
Before moving into that apartment I maybe saw my dr once a year
After moving in:
4 MRI’s
10 X-rays
5 procedures done on my arthritis
Bakers cyst returning over and over
Depression counseling
Anxiety counseling
Chiropractors
Natural Pathic drs and medicine
Spine specialist
Knee specialist
22 PT appointments
Reason I’m sharing this with you is because I don’t want my difficult time to be in vain.. I want to help get the word out! Spread it!!!

Hi
I live in Spain. In a traditional old terrace house that was built in the 18 hundreds. It has no damp proofing at all. The floors are tiled on top of muck and then concrete. The place in the house we live the animals were left over night. None of the walls are damp proofs and only one stone\brick wall. I can tell you its flipping cold in the winter. We have lived here 10 years and when we moved in we did all the walls, inside and out with damp proofing paint. Now we are having to start again as both inside an d out are starting to crumble again.. I have 3 prolapsed discs and osteoarthritis. I get a sniffy cold but its funny but I hardly hear of people having colds. I won't say most of the women but a lot of the women living in the same houses as me have osteoarthritis. Two especially are nearly bent double. I don't think myself, that mold has anything to do wth it but I'm not a consultant. My osteoarthritis I had already when I came to Spain and has not got worse.
