OAB after Turp

Hi
I'm still struggling with frequency or the constant urge to urinate is this normal?
I had a Turp procedure 4 months ago followed by stricture procedure 2 weeks ago both times
I was on a catheter for 5 days following the procedures and no rest bite for OAB between the two
procedures. TIA for any comments

i had a holep, which is like a TURP. Ive also been enjoying OAB, which can come on fast and furious. Its not related to how much urine i need to void, either. Going from lying down or sitting to standing can bring it on.
I read that flomax can help with it, so i am taking the rest of my prescription from before the holep. Verdict is out on if it is actually helping, or i am just learning to deal with it.
Best of luck!

It could be normal if you are infected with bacteria

No infection been found no pain either just frequency or an urge to go often

jas trust me . You have not been checked properly. Especially if you leave in UK. But other countries are not much better in terms of diagnosis. Testing only urine is a waste of time.
That is precisely what NHS does. Bunch of amateurs . I got bacteria found in my semen/my prostate fluid ( more then once. tested in 3 different private laboratory). In the same time my stupid GP was testing my urine only and was claiming that I'm healthy. Despite me having all the symptoms of water infections.
It led to bacteriuria in May 2021 and I almost died. Even then my stupid GP didn't refer me to a specialist and prescribed me 7 day dose of antibiotics only. Needless to say it was not enough and by now I'm on my second IV treatment trying to eradicate bacteria from my prostate. Bacteria would never enter my prostate if it was detected and eradicate on time.
So dear friend...if nobody never tested your semen properly and you never had a Stamey's test - you can not know for sure that your prostate problems are not related to bacterial infection. If your urine culture test came back as a no significant growth (rather then no growth) then most likely you are infected. To makes things clear- I'm not talking about STD/STI.

This is interesting because I was on meds for bladder spasms for 10+ years prior to my TURP 3 years ago. My uro said the TURP might relieve the bladder spasms so I stopped the meds a few weeks after. I haven't had to take them since.

Three weeks post-TURP. Defintely have OAB. Was hoping they were going to taper off soon but guess I still have some more to look forward to. Still taking Tamsulosin but at reduced dosage which might help a bit. Seeing my Urologist for post surgical check-in and will see what's up.
