OAB first botox treatment

Here is an update about my over active bladder. I’’m under urologist treatment for almost two years now and had several tests, urologic and neurologic, tried all known medication, did kegel exercise. But unfortunately without any improving of the symptoms.
Since a urodynamic test one and a half year ago it is clear i have an overactive bladder. Although my ( former ) urologist didn’t tell me so. Yesterday i saw my new urologist, and she said the test result from back then were very clear. I don’t say the treatment since then would have been different if i knew before, but it would have been nice when he communicated it properly with me. However last July i had the last appointment with him, and i thought i was in a dead end. Since i am also diagnosed with fibromyalgia i wanted to focus more on feeling better with that, and hoping it would have a positive effect on my bladder issues as well. Looking back all i did was desperately fighting the urge and the pain that came along. So in a worst shape then in July i made an appointment with a different urologist. She read my file and just asked what i wanted. I said i would like to try botox treatment. To my surprise she said, ok, let’s do it. Since i was afraid there would be another endless round of examinations and therapy this was a happy surprise. I am very excited and positive about it, although i know it only lasts 9 to 12 month.
I’m scheduled for march 13th. I read several postings about the botox treatment here but i would appreciate if anyone could share their experience about this treatment with me.

I with you well with the botox treatment. I have had OAB for many years and have tried several non-invasive treatments (various anti-cholinergic meds, pt to strengthen pelvic floor). My preference is always to try the least invasive treatment first. Here is what works for me. I take Myrbetriq tablets daily (works much better than anti-cholinergics, which I couldn't tolerate) and I receive monthly treatments with UrgentPC, which stimulates the tibial nerve near the ankle. I have also been supplementing the tibial nerve stimulation at home with the use of a TENS machine for 30 to 60 minutes daily. I place the pads near the UrgentPC stimulation point. I still have occasional leaks, but they are greatly diminished. I certainly hope your Botox treatment is effective without side effects. I provide the above information in case someone is considering other options.

I have had my first botox treatment 2 1/2 month ago. The urge, that is often very painful did not go away, and i had to use catheters the first 3 weeks. Also i had a bladder infection. But the good thing is i had less leakage, simply because i could not pee on my own. I hoped for a better control of my bladder, and a less painful urge, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Yesterday i saw my urologist and she said the treatment could be repeated with a higher dose of botox. I don't know what to do yet. The choice is between the uncomfort of leakage, or not to be able to pee on my own.
