Yes, that is a symptoms of anxiety. I have the same thing about relationships with people.

One thing I've been realizing is that this something we do to ourselves rather than "something" happening to us. anxiety is like a recurring circle of self-torture.

You need to just accept the thoughts as your own, and go with the flow. Resisting, makes worse. Accept and flow through them. Don't respond, observe them come and float away. Eventually you will get bored and move onto something else.

ruminating is very common with people who have anxiety. They tend to overthink things. The problem is that it’s not a good feeling to have thoughts swirl around in your head over and over again. it’s like a tornado of thoughts.

I have had that happen to me many times over the years. I had to make a conscious decision to not let it continue. One of the things I had to do was learn how to completely relax my mind. I had to do this several times each day. Otherwise I would get those random thoughts in my head . there are some great relaxation meditations on YouTube for anxiety and overthinking.

you have to ask yourself, “why do I absolutely need to solve this question?“.

you may never even be able to completely solve it. That’s when you have to let go of it. it does not matter whether you solve it or not. that’s the only way you’re going to have peace of mind. And that is more important than anything.

AND get busy and do other things to occupy your mind! What I like to do is help somebody out who needs it. It takes your mind off of yourself and you are doing something good for somebody else. Go for walks, do a hobby you enjoy, stay active.

if you are really troubled by this, think about speaking with a counselor or therapist who can help you manage this better. take care.

I have been going through the exact same situation. I have diagnosed health anxiety and I'm ruminating thoughts about a particular symptom of mine. I'm not sure how to stop this tbh. It's driving me crazy. I hope it stops soon with time.

Human brain loves to ruminate but unfortunately, obsessive rumination is not something healthy. Rumination is mostly due to anxiety or depression and is not always about what is going on in your life. It is about anticipation, what you fear might happen and what you worry might happen.
