Occasional Sharp Pain and Hip click

Hi
I had my left hip replaced 6 weeks ago and am still experiencing pain when i put weight on that side, therefore i an still using a single stick. I have also developed a click and sharp pain occasionally when i change direction or go upstairs especially since swelling went away. Everything feels very tight on my outer leg which limits movement going up stairs and this seams to be linked to my butt pain. Its all a bit depressing as i don't seam to be making much progress over the last 3 weeks. I am trying to do my physio exercises but this can be painful.
Has anyone else experienced these problems?

Hi Steve,
Six weeks is still very early days, you should be using a stick at six weeks. You have had a big operation, you have been cut open, the bone sawn, drilled, metal put in and everything joined together again. The outside might look healed but inside has a lot more healing to do.
When I put weight on my operated hip, it was uncomfortable, it felt like I was pressing too hard on the joint, I had to use a walking stick until that stopped at around week ten, it also felt very tight, the scar area felt tingly for some time . You will have good weeks and weeks you do not feel much progress is made, three months is when you should feel healed.
Just do your exercises and walk as much as possible, eventually you will realise the hip is feeling more 'normal'. Let the inside heal in it's own time, everyone heals at a different rate.
