OCD concern.

I have long suffered with OCD and for the most part I've always viewed my family as my safe zone. Except that has now changed. My brother was recently diagnosed with genital HPV, I love him, he is my best friend and I want to be there for him but I'm terrified that Ill get it from him in some stupid meaner. We live together, is it safe to eat off of something he previously ate, what if touch something that has his blood!? I feel like a complete ******* since I feel this way, please help!!

Hi, genital hpv is highly contagious but is only spread through sex or skin to skin contact in the area of the genitals, so you can't catch it through the ways you are thinking, you are safe.

that the only way you can get genital herpes is through sexual contact. You are safe.    The virus needs to be in the human body in order to survive. You will not get it from him

One out of every four women has it and one out of every 6 to 7 men has  genital herpes so it is way more common than most people think. It's just that a lot of people don't tell others that they have it. if you've ever had the chickenpox, that is related to the herpes virus.  Cold sores on the mouth are herpes . You can have the herpes virus and never have symptoms where as other people get outbreaks every so often. You can relax. You won't get it from him.
