im 30.for the past ten years ive had my share of depressed months. I moved awayto from home so this caused me tremendous stress.

for the past few months ive started getting scared I will get a horrible disease. fear of contamination, pretty much...im noe scared to touch my mum when she comes home from thethe hospital.im also less sleepy and very sad.

I was seeing a shrink but didnt help..im now seeing a new one.

im worried,.I dont wanna live like that...

could this be hypomania?or is it plain old ocd? I cant take antidepressants as im on some other meds

Hi this sounds to me much like health anxiety.  This is quite common and often anxiety accompanies depression.  Tell your psychiatrist what is going on and let them help you.  x

You are seeing a Specialist who will try and help to control your Fears and Anxiety, there is no reason why that will not be able to prescribe Anti Depressant medications, I take an extensive list of drugs some are Opiates to control pain and various other drugs, so you do not need to worry about contraindications.

You need to learn how to control your Fears and  your Specialist will help you gain more confidence in your life.

We all have health concerns and fears although we need to understand anything serious is rare and severe negative fears are just that, we need to move on
