Ocular Rosacea. Did you see a specialist?

I've had rosacea for some years and, although it only flares up with papules from time to time, I do regularly flush a lot. For the past few months I have had very uncomfortable eyes - itchy, gritty and sore. I saw an optician yesterday who checked my eyes for dryness using the Tear Break Up Time method and the result was it took three seconds for the liquid to evaporate. I understand that the evaporation time for normal eyes is ten seconds. So, they are very dry and she also told me I have Blepharitis.

I will be seeing my GP on Monday to discuss this.  Although my optician has given me recommendations for eye drops (I forgot to tell her about the rosacea!) I'm now wondering if I would be better asking my GP to be referred to an opthalmologist, rather than continuing under him.  My concern is that my eye problems are Ocular Rosacea.

If anyone has Ocular Rosacea I would be very interested to hear if your GP looked after you, or if you saw a specialist.

Hi I was diagnosed with ocular rosacea & rosacea also. I find a very think coat of Vaseline on my lashes and around my eyes helps. Exspecially over night or castor oil. I also take omega 7 for the dryness of the eyes this seems to help. Hope you find a solution
