I don't know if fatal sporadic insomnia is a even a thing. Less than 100 were diagnosed with this disease over the past 100 Years. So, the chances of getting this disease is very slim.

The symptoms that you have mentioned above is similar to Normal Insomnia which I have and Pretty much everyone here has that too.

you dont have it i had exactly the same fear as you i wish this fatal insomnia thing will never been on the internet and there's a question in my mind that if its vanishingly rare an inherited case that affects 1 in a billion per year so why its on the internet a misnomer disease sporadic form is not real ffi is the real form of that disease u dont have 120000% u dont have it it might be a medical cause cause in my case its my head mucus n sinusitis is keeping me awake n causing insomnia some nights i sleep good and sometimes i sleep for only two hours i was panicking that i might have this disease but they said its so rare n only genetic in 57 years they might only get 57 cases of that disease but the chances are impossible u dont have it

thats impossible u dont have that sfi is an inherited disease a case which affect 1 in a billion which means it only affect 57 people in 57 years if u dont have a family member with that disease dont worry u dont have it

Yeah Andrew dont worry man thats not something you have there would be other symptoms that come along with it. If it persists for a while I would recommend you go to a sleep specialist to any possible sleep disorders ruled out like sleep apnea or any REM issues.

Also not sure if youre an anxious person but anxiety and stress is a commonly the underlying issue with acute anxiety so you may need to go about treating it in that way.

dont make your self anxious for something which you do not have and i wish that fatal thing has never been on the internet this is incredibly rare impossible disease but its hard to get away from these thoughts i was there and i know it not sleeping have never killed anyone and the disease that you are thinking of is so rare and inherited it may be a medical cause behind your insomnia cause im also dealing with that thing and after my sleep study ive found out that i have sinus head congestion problem which is causing me insomnia brother dont worry u dont have this cause sfi does not even exist But Ffi do exist and its impossibly rare disease and if u r sleeping for even an hour so you dont have that it always starts with impotence and diplopia and high blood pressure axtaxia

all I know is my sleep is becoming worse is that normal for someone who doesn't have fatal sporadic insomnia

andrew go to a doctor and get sleep meds ASAP. Then figure out a way to treat underlying anxiety. My best advice is to not keep waiting the sleep will get worse youre not the only one here its been going on for two months with me you need to address the immediate issue which is lack of sleep.
