i have been told that I have moderate Dysplasia in the cells of the oesphagus and will have to be closely monitored he said it's not cancer but could progress to cancer has anyone else got this and could these cells go back to normal or will they progress to cancer ? I have had abnormal cervical smears in the past where the cells were ablated can this not be done in the oesphagus? Does anyone have any answers I.m very anxious about what may happen . Could these cells change rapidly or may they never change . Sorry if it's all a bit muddled but my brains muddled at the moment .

have you been or are being treated for reflux or anything related to your oesphagus, most stuff i can find is related to barrets and dysplasia, did they not refer you to a specialist so you can talk this through and give you an idea of what to do to help or what to look out for in the future so its not changing and you ignore any symptons

HI yes I take 60mg of lansaprozole daily I thought I had Barretts because I was told that after an endoscope but the biopsies they took have showed these abnormal cells I have to be monitored now for any changes but the doctor didn't explain about any treatment I think I,ll be monitored and if things change then see what they suggest I was hoping that the cells may go back to normal.. He also said I had a lot of inflammation
