Off Fluoxetine for 8 days - still having side effects! Anyone else??

Man-o-man this is some strong stuff. I was on Fluoxetine 10 mg for 4 days and then upped to 20 mg for 2 days. At that point I couldn't handle it any longer. The doctor suggested I quit cold turkey because it had only been 6 days. Fast forward to now, 8 days off. I still have heightened anxiety and awful trembling - mostly in my legs. It's better in the day but comes on strong at night. Has anyone else experienced this? When did it finally go away for you??? I need my sleep! Thanks for helping me get through this!

Yes!! I was on it for only 5 days. I had no side effects whatsoever until on the 5th day, I had crazy nightmares and woke up thinking there were monsters in my room my heart was pounding so hard. When I calmed down, I decided I was done taking that crap. It was AWFUL. The next day, I started with the nausea and stomach cramps. My anxiety got so severe unlike anything I ever experienced. I lost about 12 lbs (which I'm not mad about) from not being able to eat anything for over a week. I was a hot mess for about 10 days after stopping it before it gradually started getting better. I thought it would never end. I took a low dose valium at night so I could sleep. Someone here recommended a book called A Little Peace Of Mind and it helped a lot.

I was where you were less than a month ago and I'm ok now. I thought for sure I had completely ruined my nervous system and that I was ruined forever. It was the scariest feeling ever. I promise you'll be ok. Unfortunately, this crap takes a while to leave your system. But it will and this will be a bad memory.
