Off Venlafaxine

I was on 225mg OD of this drug and ended up with terrible side effects, which I didn’t know at the time was related to it.

I had terrible tingling sensation in my face, lips, crunching in my ear and sweating like I was hit was a virus and this would occur every couple of days or every couple of weeks.   Causing me to feel sick and have an upset  Stomach to the point I could go to work when the symptoms occurred. I was bounced from one specialist to another with no medical cause found, despite the doctor who put me on the stating  I wasn’t getting side effects from the drug.

After being on the drug for 4 years I decided I wanted off of it as my depression was as bad as ever.

I have now been off this drug for 4 months, I have been symptom free during this time and my mood is no worse for being off of it.  The withdrawal was as bad as coming off a class A drug but was worth it. 🙏

      Hi Carl

I was even tested for MS in the end and had a brain MRI.  Like I say I’ve been off the drug for 4 months and been symptom free. For me I knew this drug wasn’t working as I was not only feeling crap bodily but also mentally on it.
