Hi there - no I have not. I’ve only been taking it for 2 weeks but I’m curious to hear what others have to say... Are you experiencing any?

Hi Christina, I’m in the process ofcerajing myself off then . I was on 50mg for 12 weeks and due to running to the loo several times a day I’d had enough. I’ve been on 25mg for3 weeks now, no more running to the loo. I’ve had awful headaches for practically the 3 weeks but the last 2 days they have not been as painful. For about 2 weeks I had periods of dizzy spells as I’ve got high pitch noise in my ears. Slight bouts of nausea. In my opinion coming off them is worse than the side effects when you start taking them. I’ve woke this morning and for  some reason feel anxious . I’m due to taper down to 12.5mg tomorrow for another few weeks before I completely stop. How are you finding it ?

      Hello Tania,

I'm on day 12 without it and quite honestly it goes up and down. My doctor said since I was only on Zoloft for 6 months that I would be of doing 50mg for 1 week and then 25mg then next. Making the third week with no  Zoloft. NOT A SMART IDEA. I knew better just from reading the forums, but since he is my doctor I trusted him....rolleyes Anyway, his intention was to take me off of Zoloft and put me on another med that was intended for seizures ( IVE NEVER HAD A SEIZURE IN MY LIFE!) AND BIPOLAR 2. He believes he misdiagnosed me....Well, I filled the script like a good little robot, but for some reason I didn't want to take it. I would talk myself out of taking it. And 4days ago I flushed them done the toilet!  I've had the brain zaps, dizziness, slight anxiety, no motivation at times, but overall feeling GREAT! Ive also started Hemp oil/CBD oil and I swear its like magic in a bottle and all natural. Not a single side effect! I've also started to read a book called " A mind of your own" PLEASE, if you've read nothing else in  my response, please read this book!!! it has blown me AWAY! XO

I replied to the post and for some reason its being reviewed by a moderator?

I went to my doctor and he decided that he misdiagnosed me. Initially I was diagnosed with GAD. He stared me on Zoloft 50mg. I followed his orders and upped my dose to 75mg 3 weeks later. In the meantime I was manic. I could not turn my mind off. I was no longer anxious but more so numb to everything. When I went to see him again I told him about the manic brain I hd and he decided that he misdiagnosed me. He felt that I was borderline Bipolar 2. He had me taper off the Zoloft. 50mg for 1 week, then 25mg the next and the third week zero. He prescribed me something for epilepsy but it also helped for bipolar disorders. I filled the script but couldn't brig myself to actually take it, so I didn't. I'm on day 12 meds free. It hasn't been fun, but I'm working through it. I have started taking CBD oil/hemp oil and it has been a Godsend! I'm also reading a book called "A mind of your own" and it has literally blown me away! I am not saying that these meds are poison, but they are certainly concerning. None of my doctors warned me about the effects that these SSRI's have on the brain and body. I am on the road to recovery and I feel like taking the zoloft to begin with was a major mistake on my part. I wish everyone would look further into these meds before taking them. I took them because I was scared and sad all of the time. I trusted my doctors and I am a firm believer in medicine. I just think that we just don't know enough about these meds before taking them. If you're interested in reading about them take a look at the book. You'll be blown away. Almost every other sentence reminds me of me!

Hi Christina i loved your message the one that was first moderated then got through, it is so true, i had to give you a vote, do not get me wrong doctors are great and are there to help you but can only go on what you tell them but only you know your mind and body , and i have been ill since i was 14 and i am 54 now and i have so many things wrong with me, starting with severe migraines ,eating disorders, ibs, bdd, depression anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, and looking at all these you will see they are linked, but it took years of medication , tests and thinking my life was over to i need to sort this out , i was taking so many drugs i was like a living zombie, and so many side effects , so i spoke to my doctor and he agreed i told me the ones i needed and came off the ones that were making me more ill, i believe so much in alternative medicine and he agreed with me, if it helps then go ahead, i have had a traumatic life which i am getting counselling for and talking therapy its great, i take valerian for insomnia helps a lot, plus herbal tea, i do gentle yoga for mind and body, keeps me calm, so i agree with you , you do need doctors for life saving drugs but there are alternative medicines for other illnesses you just have to talk to the experts , this book A MIND OF YOUR OWN , who it is by , if you do not mind telling me, glad your well hope it continues ,jaybabes X
