Was getting on so well, coming up to 5.5 mnths after THLR. We went to Liverpool for a couple of days holiday and I ended up with the most horrendous cough cold, flu whatever had to come back home ...... I have been in bed for 3 days, too ill to get out, Today I feel a little better and made myself get up and dressed. With all the sleeping I have been doing, now my hip is sooooo stiff and sore. I still don't feel well, have a nasty cough and a chest infection. Been taking beechams powders, paracetamol strepsils and anything else I feel will do any good. I have been trying to do my excersises but not very well as every muscle in my body hurts.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? did you manage to repair yourself? Feel so tired going back to bed again Love to all GIll xxx
Hopefully over the next few days I will begin to feel better and gain a bit of strength, at the moment I feel I am back to the beginning again........... hey ho another mountain to climb.

This does not mean a setback for your hip - you are just really really ill and everything hurts. I can't think you have done anything to damage your hip from your post. Try not to worry. I hope you get well soon. Sending you lots of love and get well wishes x

I contracted Pneumonia a month after my op back in May.
It was 2 days before we were due to go on holiday, I had a terrific pain around my ribs , especially when I breathed in. I thought that I had an embolism, so went to Dr who diagnosed a pulled muscle. It got a bit better, so we went away, but I was very tired and listless. Two days later I coughed up a large blood clot, and ended up in Harrogate A and E, where I was tested for a clot, which came back positive, then had an x- ray which revealed pneumonia. I got over it after a few weeks, but it knocked the stuffing out of me.
Hoping that you will soon recover.
Best Wishes.

You sound so poorly, have you seen the doc as you say you have a chest infection so hopefully you are on antibiotics?
Rest as much as you can and drink plenty, dont worry about your hip I suspect if you have flu your joints will ache anyway. Once you are starting to feel a bit brighter why not start with doing the basic bed exercises we all did after our op and you can start to do more once you are better.
💐 Take care and hope you will be better soon 💐

Oh and it's nothing to do with the flu jab either, just another virus.

I had something similar about 10 days before my op so was really worried it wouldnt go ahead. Went to the doctor like you who said it was a virus and although I felt really rough for a few days I didnt have the cough for too long and was obviously fit enough for the op.
Do take care of yourself and get plenty of rest.
