Oh no, found a new lesion! But had no idea it was there

Lol, well, that sucks! Guess my big night out did trigger something after all, but the weird thing is that I didn't sense anything coming on.

Only noticed a *very* mild burning sensation in one spot just now, so I whipped out my mirror and flashlight (while on the toilet, no less, haha) and found a faint ulcerated lesion that looks to be healing (I think). Same location as before. Not sure if there are more, so I'll have to take a better look later.

Hmmm, I wonder if it will get worse or is this it? No idea how a recurrence will play out for me. Also, I'm rather surprised that I had no warning. Maybe I'm just not attuned to the prodromal signs yet, or am one of those who doesn't get any warning? In any case, I knew I shouldn't have celebrated so soon, doh! Sigh, lol.

That sucks sad What does this lesion look like? What I got the first time were like white spots that just vanished, teeny tiny in size, but many and now I don't know what to look out for on an recurrence. Sorry, if this is too much to ask x

It looks like an oral canker sore, but on my inner labia and much fainter/paler, which is why I think it may already be healing, but I could be wrong. Few millimetres across, so not teeny-tiny, but not big. Actually looks exactly like the one I had in the same spot the first time around.

This might actually be good news

If obs get less severe with time, and your second one is so minor as to be imperceptable, you could be set up for a VERY mild future with the virus.

Im sure you're wondering about transmission and how you know when you're shedding etc, you may have to do daily inspections accompanied a little nether-region meditation to detect subtle changes untill you learn a bit about your bodys signals. All in all i say good news !!

Let's see. It could still worsen! And I only made it to two months, boo. rolleyes I wonder if it would have stayed at bay longer if I hadn't gone out so late and drank so much (not that five drinks are much for the length of time I was out!).

Would have thought a trigger would be more immediate, too. I went out Saturday night. Now that I think back, there may have been a few signs, but they were ever so subtle that they barely registered!

Well, I'll keep you guys posted as to what a recurrence is like. Hopefully not much "worse" than this!

P.S. I am not going to take any antiviral meds in order to see how it progresses naturally.

Is this your first recurrence? I know it sucks, but hey - if you got to have a great night out and you only got a small lesion without even noticing then that's pretty great!!

My first OB was last week and I didn't have ANY prodomal signs... no pain, no burning, no itching, nothing. So I believe in some cases people just don't get them. Take this as a blessing! Sounds like you will have pretty minor OB's if any smile!

I have since confirmed a small painless blister, so that makes two lesions. Anything else is either internal, too tiny or ambiguous to notice, or simply not there, lol.

Early days to know whether it will worsen or not, but if this is it, then a recurrence isn't so bad. Knowing my luck, however, it will worsen! No burning urination so far at least.

Prodrome only occurs with recurrences, so you may still have signs yet! Mine was just a super mild last-minute burning sensation. Thought my urine seemed a bit different, too, but not painful, so I didn't think anything of it.

Oh okay! I was under the impression that prodome occurs even at primary OB. My doctor was surprised that I didn't have any tingling, so thats why I was under that impression. Good to know smile

Yeah, when you're first infected, it's just BAM! Outbreak. Once the virus is comfortably at home in your sacral ganglia and has learnt some manners, it will give you advance notice whenever it decides to leave its base and pay you another visit. Very polite, lol. Some people have rude HSV viruses that still continue to suddenly turn up unannounced. That's one way of looking at it, haha.

Haha great way to look at it! I would definitely like to have a bit of a warning haha smile

Yeah, no party crashers! Bad enough the first time, and to then discover it's decided to set up home permanently in the basement!! The audacity, lol. Ringing ahead in future would be better, but I'd still rather serve it an eviction notice! Worst house tenant ever, haha.

Woke up with a very minor headache that eventually went away on its own, then looked for the lesion, but it seems to have already gone! Wow, if this is it, I'm okay with that, lol. Decided I felt okay, so went out again, but this time only three drinks and until 2am. Let's see what happens next!
