Help I'm on week 2 of orlistat and having really bad side affects even though I've cut out pretty much all oily/ fatty foods my intake of food has been decreased and I'm careful of what I'm eating I'm still getting this oily leakage I've looked up online and some people say increase fiber supplements has any one tried this or been through what I'm going through? Any advise is welcome.

It maybe be coming from an unexpected source. I made slow cooked pork shoulder one day, with mashed potatoes and steamed veg. Seemed pretty healthy...until the next day. I didn't realise how fatty pork was even when cooked in a lean way.

Take a look at the proteins you are eating, or maybe biscuits or something that you wouldn't expect to have higher amounts of fat in. Do you drink whole milk? Are you having full fat yogurts or things like that?

I did have braising steak with potatoes and veg on Sunday and I hope that's why its been so bad, I only use skimmed milk eat low fat yoghurts (next shop fat free) a normal day for me is

Bfst: porridge with mashed banana and bfst sprinkles

Lunch: ham salad sandwich on wholemeal

Dinner: Mediterranean veg (fry light olive oil) with heck chicken sausage

Snack if any at all is fruit or low fat yoghurt

I gave up cheese in my first week of this diet as I found it caused what I'm experiencing this week rolleyes

I still eat a small amount of cheese with no problems. A generous TBSP size when I do have it (no more than once a day though!).

I would put money on the braising steak. Similar to my pork experience lol

    Oh no that really sucks....

?I know some say that if you went from a hig fat diet, then started xenical at the same time you started low fat diet....it might be some "leftovers" in your system that has to go.

?I have little experience in this really, I started xenical 1st of march, and then I`d been on low fat diet a few weeks prior to that.

?I`v had the oilyness twice though...Once after having salmon (of all things!!, but I guess the healthy fat was just too much for xenical) and once after having sausages that I thought were made from turkey but turned out were pork...

?I learned my lesson, and am even more extreme in what I`m putting in my mouth now. Those side effects are really terrible, I do hope things will get better for you and that you`ll be able to figure out the source...

    ?

Hi, I have last week i did have more fat than normal so i think it was that as its the first time I have had any problems with orlistat in 5 weeks

I hope you are feeling okay now

All OK now thankfully, I think it must have been my Sunday lunch although I didn't think there was much fat in it, it must have been hidden somewhere lol, I'll know better next time aye smile

I can relate! Especially in week two I had a number of incidents where I was caught off guard. That being said it was one of my biggest losses that week. I found that I agree with the below comment that it could still be down to your body adjusting etc because it really levels out after week 2 to not such explosive or messy side effects. Although I've had great use of the erupting volcano emoji on group chat. Best of luck. It gets better!

    (I'm on week 7)

Ok so I'm also on week two of my month trial & im 6.5lb down. I've had no side effects apart from one small incident over chocolate 😂

However... tonight the bf wants to take me out & I really want fried chicken or something but I'm nervous of the effects. I know about the oil etc but how long does this usually last? I have work tomorrow so can't really be pooping my pants😂 I know this defeats the point but Ive been so good. I feel a treat is in order.

    Thanks in advance.
