All new posts are coming up 494 for me. I am using Alan's suggestion of deleting the Comment bit in the URL which does work but is a real hassle.

Ther is one thing about this mess we have all started to commute again which is good.

I agree Margaret...it's just a shame it takes so many xtra problems to get everyone texting again......

I guess it's the ole "squeaky wheel" syndrome!😣

make that 404's for me as well!! Several of them.

    What the hey??

with all due respect, we shouldn't have to delete or push buttons or go from place to place just to read an email!

it just shouldn't be that complicated. All of us are here cuz we've got physical/emotional problems goin on, and the added stress of having to figure everything out is More than annoying!

I realize things are constantly being worked on but....Seriously????

I'm having a mix as well Margaret, you're not on your own. As a workaround Alan has suggested removing contents from the address in your browser, and then pressing enter as usual. It does work.

It's all very tedious and I can't believe that the punctuation issue hasn't been sorted. It's pretty basic. I've joined HealthUnlocked. It's very informative and has none of these bugs. https://healthunlocked.com

The reply that is waiting for moderation was an attempt to help Margaret and indicate another Health site which is pretty good and doesn't have all these problems. If you look in your browser you'll see a long address. If you remove the word 'Content' you'll get to the message . I know. An added stress for us who are already managing a stressful illness, and for whom this site used to be terrific.

I assume you mean the HealthUnlocked forum? I've given the link several times and it is always in the Resources post in the home page of this forum. It also comes up if you google PMRGCAuk forum as it was set up by the UK charity. But it has also had some problems, nothing is perfect.

Programming problems do take time to sort out - of course, most of the problems here were created by poor IT work when they revamped the forums to "go with" the new look when the site was worked on a few months ago. Patient is a very big site, providing facilities for the NHS - maybe it is too big...

And I have a mix - some threads bring up 404 messages and then suddenly start to work. Others work OK and then suddenly don't. It is obviously an intermittent fault and as we all know from our cars or household appliances they are the most difficult to sort out!

I completely get that Eileen. I attended a meeting with the MD of Emiss and his main geek over issues with the Patient Access site. They came across as eager to sort it all out and improve communication. However, I think they have been hugely ambitious and perhaps don't have enough tecchies to deal with the bog standard stuff while they attend to the more complex. In the meantime they are losing people/income and it's a shame. To be fair perhaps we should also remember that we don't pay for this amazing service. I feel I should end with a joke but can't think of one! Have a great day everyone xx

Interesting - not sure I would get out of a meeting with the MD except via the police cells!

I agree entirely - they have been messing about for a couple of years now and learned no lessons from any of their mistakes which have been quite comprehensive at times. It nearly died a few years ago because access was next to impossible and that went on for months. Then they brought the "new vibrant look" last year - which hurt to look at. We lost people then. When another support site and forum was set up for PMRGCA, the RNIB was consulted about making it accessible for people with impaired vision - here, just done and we were told we'd get used to it. For a couple of months it was "We're listening" - but they weren't.

The communication should have started with asking what patients wanted/needed! They have advertising - doesn't bother me as I have an ad blocker but that was a major issue for a long time with really intrusive ads that people couldn't cope with. But they introduce stuff that is difficult for patients who have a chronic illness to deal with (colours and backgrounds) and none of their changes are intuitive - unless you are a trendy young IT bunny. We aren't...

Like the dog that only bites sometimes!

Incidentally and not limited to this or any site... but I find when I want to copy and paste the R click brings up the copy bit 100% of the time but paste only becomes available once I've pressed enter Sometimes at first time of asking, sometimes it takes two or three goes. Nil desperandum!

I just use block, control C and control V. I can't be bothered with what you can do with right clicking!!

Recently there was an article in the Guardian about useful keyboard shortcuts - most of them I've used for years and have told OH about them in the past but he ignored me. Funny how he took notice of the paper ...

Yes, I know about the short cuts in theory but I tend to revert to what I first did which was mouse controlled. It's a basic weakness of mine; I'm not good at manual stuff. Give me a new book and I can't wait to get into it just don't ask me to see how things fit together!

I'll practise control V and C...... I see practise has been highlighted as incorrect. It isn't It's a verb in this sentence. Urghhh!

My surgery uses this software too for our medical records. It worked really well, then last May they decided to "improve" it and we had the same disaster. People could not log on, I found that I have data missing that was there before. They say it is my surgery's fault, but I cannot understand why the surgery should have to do things for every patient just because the software has been updated.
