OLP in esophagus

I have suffered with esophageal spasms for months. A recent endoscopy revealed that my oral OLP has spread to my esophagus. Have been prescribed a steroid and am hoping for relief. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi, I have esophageal OLP also, I had two esophageal expansions, the expanding sorted my choking but the OLP was also causing me to have chronic coughing, to make a long story short I have had help from a Dental surgeon who prescribed Dermovate ointment for Oral use and I has fixed the cough and reduced the OLP by 40% which for me is brilliant, so I hope this may help.. Hi, I have been dealing with OLP for about 5 years, I see doctors at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, Yes I'm from US.

I have to have my esphogus dilated every three months to keep it open, They have come up with a compound steroid in a capsule that I open up and mix powdered contents from capsule into 10m of Sugar Free Syrup as (Im a diabetic).

I started out twice a day now I'm on 1 time a day for maintenance.

    3mg Budesonide

    It has helped tremendously.

I have OLP of mouth, skin, vagina, eyes, ears, it affects all my mucus membrane areas, it sucks.

Best wishes to you keep pushing for answers that will help you, each case is so different on what works. I do tacrolimus ointment in my mouth for sores 0.1% I've never heard of it in pill form to be able to gargle with it, I'm going to look into this as well.

    Good luck

I started budesonide just this morning. Like you, I am diabetic, but I did mix it with molasses. This is in liquid form in little vials.

I am so sorry that your LP is so widely spread in your body. Mayo is the best place to be,
