On 100 mg Zoloft for 8 weeks and 150 for 5 weeks

I still wake up very anxious. Is this normal? Am I ever going to feel like myself? Do I need to switch meds? I am so confused right now I don't really know what to do anymore. I take for depression and anxiety. Is it me? The weather? Please I am grasping at straws right now. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Have you felt any improvement at all during the time you've been taking Sertraline?

Hi Wendy, I've been on zoloft going on 8 weeks and feel really good have some bad days but fewer all the time, did doc start you on 100, my started me on 25 for week then 50 for 3 weeks, then 100 on 4th week, so starting at 100 may take more time for your body to adjust. 3 weeks on 50 were hell for me, but once went to 100 things began changing for better, try to stick with it for couple more weeks and ask doc for diazipam, Lorazapam, or zanax to help calm you during adjustment, it really helps. Hope this helps

Hi Tim, Please what do you mean by a bad day? I have taken Sert. From 7 weeks now. 5 at 50mg and 2 at 100 mg. Up to week 5 I still had anxiety and some panic attacks. Although some periods of calm. Last week I went on a walking holiday and I only had low anxiety in the mornings and was completely calm evenings and night. Saturday evening I was calm and I thought that it was starting to work but yesterday my anxiety was high and I have had a terrible night. Like Wendy I don't really know what to do. Keep waiting, discuss an increase with my GP, which I don't want to have to increase as maybe I am taking too much or it doesn't suit me. Also I don't want to have to change Meds. I have taken Seroxat in the past and had a real improvement after 2 weeks. I take for anxiety and panic. So are your bad days like this? Thanks for reading.

Yes you pretty much nailed it, typically my bad days are on weekends, when I'm less active, and Sunday seems to be the worst day, I developed tinnitus with my anxiety and so long as I'm active, at work, exercising, it's not so noticeable, but when things quiet down, I starting listening for it paying attention to it and things start to go sideways, I take zanax.5 when that happens to calm me so I can get out of my own way😁, my panic attacks subsided about middle of week4, when doc moved me to 100mg and this past weekend my wife and I took and weekend away and I had 0 problems, so crossing my fingers that maybe I'm starting to get out of my own way. When I wake in mornings my ears are ringing but not bad, I take my zoloft at that time and within an hour the ringing is just a buzz, so we seem to have that morning anxiety in common as well.So stick with it your really close to a total change. Here's to getting well👍👍Tim

    Hi Wendy

I am currently taking 50mg of Zoloft, I never thought that they would work . I was on them for 3 months before I could say I felt any better ,so maybe it's going to take longer. Also Zoloft does not work for everyone, so maybe you should go back to your doctor and get some medical advice on what is the next step for you. It could be you just haven't given them enough time. It's an awful lonely road when you waiting for meds to work ,but know that il be thinking and praying that you soon find the answer on what is best for you Atb x
