On and off tinnitus and a throbbing in my ear.

Around 2 weeks ago, I woke up feeling a bit dazed with this ringing in my left ear, the symptoms persisted and my ear felt blocked also. I went to the walk in centre and was told there is No infection, no wax or problems with the ear drum. I then went to my GP who confirmed this and has referred me to an ear specialist. This problem is driving me crazy, has anyone experienced anything similar?

Hi Tom - see an ENT to get to the bottom of your issues. I'm sure they will start with a hearing test and then move to a scope of the ear if necessary. You could be experiencing the very beginning of Meniere's but it's hard to say. Hopefully, your issues are temporary and will just disappear. Have you lost any of your hearing in that ear? Do sounds in that ear sound distorted or overly loud? Are you experiencing any dizziness or vertigo? These are all questions your ENT will ask as he determines your situation.

Good Luck and I hope you feel better soon.
