    Hi Sarah

I don't know about Valium, I think it can be taken when necessary I actually know somebody who takes it for bad Back.I know it has been said it is addictive I don't know if that is true.I have to take clonasapan which isn't the same family for essential tremor just one at night but have been so low I am now taking one some mornings,At this moment I am suffering with a crucial back pain absolutley lock from shoulders to the bottom of my back so have took one this morning which has done nothing.Sorry not much help but I would ask a pharmacist who seem to know about meds. , more than GPs you would find one today at a supermarket until about 4 if you want to stop.Keep posting on here it does help I will always answer when I get the message.Good Luck.

    Hi Sarah

Diazepam can be addictive. I take it also but only at night. Its not something one can get on repeat prescription and the doc is not keen on giving it to me regularly. I started on 2mg but for the last couple of visits, this has been increased to 5mg.

I just want to get to sleep without the hassle of not being able to which is lazy really. I would try and limit your usage to just those times you find things unbearable. I must try and do the same.

I've been breaking mine in half so they last longer too.

    Best wishes.

    Hi Sarah

I know it can be addictive but doctors will monitor you (well they should do) Iv been prescribed it for anxiety (2mg) iv only taken it yesterday and it did nothing! today i took 2 pills and feel very relaxed! im currently withdrawing from venlafaxine and the diazapam seems to take away the horrific side effects so i undersand your concern as i am already worried!

You can take it as and when required so if i was you i would try and take it as and when required and see if it starts to work again. Good luck x

I remember being given valium a couple of hours before an opperation. I didn't want or need it, but it was my first time under the knife & the nurse almost, in a very nice way, insisted I would be better of taking it as I MUST be nervous! I wasn't. It did make me feel quite drowsy, but I didn't take any on subsequent operations. Now I take Citilopram, & find it helps calm my anxiety down.

Hi Sarah I have been on diazapam 2mg for getting on for 5 weeks along with metazapine I was taking 3 a day but I had whittled that down to 2 a day. My crisis doctor has told me to only take it when my anxiety gets really bad
