Hi Downey girl, I'm so sorry you are in such pain, I too suffer wrist pain so know a little of what you are going through, luckily I'm on MTX and Cimzia injections and it is a little better at the moment. Have you tried fish oil tablets? I have a friend who is off meds altogether but takes about twelve omega three fish oil capsules each day (spread out throughout the day) and she swears they help. I also have the wrist supports that have a metal bar preventing twisting of the wrist and they helped too. Hope you find some relief soon.

Hi Mary, thank you so very much for responding. I take omega 3 fish iol but much smaller doses like 2 a day . Do you know how many milligrams your friend takes? I would like to know but I Will give that a try. Yes be Spain is really bad and he prevents you from doing mostly everything. Where do you buy those braces for your han Will give that a try. Yes be Spain is really bad and he prevents you from doing mostly everything. Where do you buy those braces for your wrists? Do you wear them all the time even at night?
Thank you! 😊

Hi again, the fish oil capsules are 1000mg. I have two types of support, the ones with the metal bar I got from the chemist. I find them quite restrictive but that's the idea. The other supports I have are neoprene fingerless compression gloves, much easier to wear and these came from a hand specialist through a physiotherapist. She also made me a wrist support which works well. I have been told that sports wrist bands are helpful too.
i hope you get some relief soon as I know this disease is so painful. xx

I have this. Wrist and thumbs - all terrible tendon pain. I got a splint from my physio for the worst hand, but it's a pain to wear. Tendons are slow to get better even when on meds. Lots of rest - keep away from repetitive actions and any heavy lifting.
Sorry I can't offer you any better advice. I hope the new doctor can help.

My doctor gave me splints to wear at night, but they were uncomfortable and the velcro got stuck to my long hair. So, I got some Energizing Support Gloves for the hand. They are made by F***** (not sure if we are allowed to put brand names) and although not as strong as the splints, they are VERY comfortable and flexible and help a lot with the pain and numbness. They help with computer work, too. You can get them at the drugstore in the F***** section or online. Now that my methotrexate has kicked in, luckily I have less wrist and hand pain, so don't have to wear them as much.

I take 6 x 1000 mg odourless fish oil capsules, 2 for breakfast, 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner, they do help.
Have had to come off MTX for a few months - too many side effects, so took a break, have started taking again last week.so will see how we go.

Hi Lyn you have answered a question for me. My hands want to close all the time and it's uncomfortable to make them stretch out, like stretching an elastic band they snap back to a closed position. Like you my little finger is the worst. I'm so worried they will stay like it that made me get the gloves. The neoprene one still allow my fingers to bend but no so much. I never thought it was the tendons though.
