On/off low grade fever, cold or something more?

I'm 38 years old, relatively healthy. This past Tuesday I started feeling unwell and dizzy. My temp is normally in the 97's, it was 99.4. Since then I've had an off/on low grade fever for almost 6 days. No other real symptoms aside from a dry cough and a slightly sore throat. I have been sleeping a lot but the fever does make me dizzy.

I do have Hashimotos' and take Levothyroxine and liothyronine .

Of course, Googling has me convinced it's blood cancer or something else. My doctor will not be able to get me in until a few more days. Any ideas if this is just a really weird virus, or do I need to be more concerned?

    Hi Amanda

I don't mean to sound flippant, but it could be hay fever, the pollen count is exceptionally high this season and every one I know is suffering even those that haven't had a problem before.  All the symptoms you describe are the same as mine and I suffer badly from this.  If you are coughing as well you may need antihistamines and an inhaler.  I hope that helps and when you see the doc it is nothing more than that.

    Best wishes
