hi members

i need some help and advice. i have been diagnosed with GAD some years ago and after struggling with anxiety decided to take anti depressants first time. i have been taking SERTRALINE 50 mg for 8 weeks and 2 days. i was pretty bad first 2-3 weeks and then slowly started to feel better but not 100 percent still had lower anxiety daily and even some good days maybe few good days. but yesterday i could not sleep well again managed 4-5 hours and all day today i had anxiety . can you advise if its too early to increase ? what shall i do and expect? apreciate your help.

Hi. glad you are getting some ease. all i know is I am on day 7 of an upped dose & It is like starting all over again, not as scary as it comes back to you that all this happened before. I really think we are all different as to how we react to these meds, so I just say, only you know whats best for you.

I might also add there are some great people on here & have pulled me through many a hard day. so maybe take a look at other posts about upping a dose.

    Feel better soon

Hi, I also been taking them for 8 weeks and out of nowhere last night I got a panic attack, my psychiatrist told me to go up to 100mg but I wil go to 75mg first and see how I feel, but yes if you still have anxiety you should go up.

HI Dana how long you think it will take to feel good again? i mean i keep reading it takes 6-8 weeks. i have already started week 9 but still not feeling 100 percent back to my old self. does it actually take longer to feel fully well?

hi. well the magic number seems to be the 13th week mark. i remember week 9/10 not being very good.

theres also a great support page on facebook with over 3k members. always someone there for support has really helped me on this journey

yeah I heard 12-13 weeks is the point mark, but everyone is different, make sure you eat healthy and don't eat a lot of sugar because it makes anxiety worse and no caffeine either, hope you feel better soon.
