On sertraline four weeks, still have some anxiety

Hi Guys,

I've been on the meds for four weeks. 2 weeks at 50mg/ 2 weeks at 100mg. I'm still having some anxiety. Shouldn't this have eased up by now?

Do I need to increase my dose?

Think you may be expecting too much too soon. Do you feel better at all?

I would be tempted to leave it another week or two as side effects include increased anxiety.

I had to go up to 150mg in the end but it was clear cut as I felt terrible at 100mg.

I am feeling better but still have odd days when I get anxiety, with physical symptoms. and I'm working full time and can't function.

I've gone from 25mg to 175 and I still don't feel great. I've been on 175 for 8 days now and still feeling crappy. However I think I'm feeling better than when I started. My depression is completely gone and I'm sleeping better. My anxiety is my only issue now. Doctor told me that Zoloft is good for depression at dosages of 25 to 100. Whereas for depression you need to be at 100 to 200 to be effective. I will probably go to 200 in the next week or two.

My biggest problem is that I wake up in a panic. I go to bed fairly relaxed. Anyone have a good way to break that cycle?

My anxiety is at its worst in morning. With severe nausea dizzyness and panic. But I was recommended to get up and eat one thing as part of the problem can be low blood sugar.the overnight build.up.of.cortisol is.also to blame. I find it helps and then if i can to go for a walk.

Your doctor is the only person who can a answer that but from my experience my anxiety and horrid panic attacks disappeared within the first week of starting 50mg.

All the best, but hang in there, it works differently for all people. It definitely works. Saved me.

But speak to your doc for any concerns.

Based on my experience, it takes longer to be effective.

However, I wondered the same thing and went from 50 to 100 to 200.

Have been at 200 for about 6 months.

Started grinding my teeth and clenching jaws really bad, so I cut back to 100.

The bruxism improved, but not I cry at the drop of a hat.

Have appointment with doctor, but it's not until the 19th.
