I am getting treated for Panic disorder...which I could not find any specific reason why it happend...As such there was no such prolonged stress, but having dizziness for long time which might had aggravted the situation for me...Anyway, as it happend so I did not take chances and went through all the tests..But everthing was fine, including MRI....One of physician asked me to use Lonazep while having anxiety....but I did not like it...then I took appointment with a psychatrist and he identified all the synptoms...He prescribed me sertraline and Lonzep (SOS)....For a few days I felt terrible and anxiety became more troublesome for me...I was experiencing palm sweating and my BP was 135/92....after 5 6 weeks BP plunged to 128/90 and no palm sweating any more....but I could not get rid off mood ups and downs....and its almost 2 months and these mood swings are still there....I also feel tired and dizzy everyday, and having heavy head....However, my anxiety is completely gone now....Not sure how to avoid dizziness and tired feeling.....Sometime I do not feel myself as if i do not exist, However, there are no memory problems, I am also working normaly in office....No such impact on concentration....

Hello, I'm not sure what to say about what you wrote, but I'm just curious about the panick.  You said there is no trigger per se.  I am just wondering if you have anything from your past that caused you anxiety or fear, even though it might not be in your thoughts at the time that panick occured.

Peter Breggin, a psychiatrist, wrote about a patient who heard voices, and though the patient wasn't aware of this, Breggin was able to uncover a distant past event that the patient had forgotten about.  When the patient became aware of it and began dealing with it, the voices went away, and this was without any medicating.  It got me wondering if that weren't the case with panic disorder.  It seems when people have a panic attack, the say it just comes on without any trigger, but perhaps the trigger is buried and unconscious.  I'm not saying that is your case, but it just got me wondering.

May be, I am not sure...But I was definitely going through a stressful phase in office...But sertraline is definitly a magic drug....I am recoeverd to 80% now...but still has thought in my head about panic and sometime uncontrollable thoughts irritate me....However, I am feeling better with mindfullness and deep breathing excersizes...Also having regular walking for 30 40 mnts which has significantly improved my BP fluctuations...I am note sure though how to feel fresh every day, as I feel tired and dizzy.....

Hi Michelle, Lonazep is with Clonazepam salt which make me sleepy and lower my anxiety level, I am sure you may have been prescribed for in such a span of time...But I do not use it often as I can sleep now a days for almost 6 7 hours...And every morning is like new to me, in earlier days I never wanted to get out of bed...I suggest you to do Mindfullness/Yoga and deep breathing including daily walk/running as suitable for you.....This will not show short term benefits but definitely a cure in long term by calming down the state of mind...Also more you accept the panic less likely it will go...My experience as well as from other forums...I am from India and very less people I find here with such disorders...stay blessed...Hope is only good thing, just hope everyday and there will be improvement...

Hi Michelle. I take quetiapine with my sertraline. It helps the antidepressants to work. I take 25 mg in morning with my sertraline and 50 at night. Didn't think it was doing anything so stopped morning one and two weeks or so in morning anxiety back. So doc said try it again and it worked. Forgot my night ones on Saturday as was away and didn't sleep at all. So what I'm saying might be worth a try. In higher doses like 800 it's given for psychotic illness but used in low doses to boost antidepressants. Worth enquiring about. Good luck

That's crap info. I have been given it three different times to kick start sertraline and though you don't stay on it long definitely helps. I panicked when I read leaflet but been reassured on my low dose helps too. Ask again.
