Hello all,

I was recently put on 50 mg sertraline due to surges while trying to sleep. It has helped a lot and i could sleep pretty well every night. I got the usual side effects but now i am in week 6 and suddenly got a lot of night jerks to the point that after 3 hours or sleep i could not go back to sleep.

Has anyone every experienced this. I was crying the whole night and also in the morning. Any help is appreciated

Hi Zen, sorry, I'm a bit confused. You are on sertraline for surges? You mean surgery?

Ok, do you take your med in the morning or evening? Sometimes you have to play around with the time you take it. I used to yawn a lot, like all day long, when I'm on this med. Now I'm not. I take mine in the morning and with food. If not, I start feeling a bit nausea.

    Hi GodsServant

Thank you for your feedback. Let me clarify. I was on intially put on mirtazapin 15 mg for anxiety and sleep. I used to get these adrenal surges just as i was falling asleep. The mirtazapin however was not very helpful so i was put on sertraline 50 mg. just a few days back i was asked to stop mirtazapin and now only on sertraline and in the last couple of days i have noticed that i am getting hypnic jerks just as i am falling asleep. Its so awful and it raises my heart rate and i cannot sleep. I looked on some boards and people mention jerking as withdrawal of mirtazapin. I am so so upset i spent whole day crying. I dont have any other anxiety its just been the falling asleep situation. I am also taking propanalol twice a day. Any help is appreciated. I am absolutely fedup. I could sleep on a zopiclone 3.5 last night
