On Zopiclone for 25 years.

I am 62 Male in Wiltshire and I've been on Zopiclone for 25 years now. My doctor prescribed them after a sibling death. Before that I used Nitratepam and the doctor changed it to Zopiclone after assuring me that the Zopiclone was non-addictive (ha ha!)

I'm currently is a ridiculous state where I am taking up to four 15mg, 2 when I go to bed and another two when I wake up at 4-5 am.

This leaves me feeling so bad during the day that I have no other life than Zopiclone and bed.

I have had no social life whatsoever for years.

Can anyone suggest anything? I really am looking at jumping under a train now to stop it all.

Hi, i was saddened to read your post and the length of time you have been on this drug if you read my post you will see my story about my addiction to this terrible drug. Im sorry to hear you are suffering so much but there are organisations that can help you be free of this drug .It will take a while but there are ways to do to and to get back to how you once were.

Things have been pretty bad lately. I'm now waking up to take the Zopiclone to try and see me through the day. The dose is varying wildly. Days are spent in a fog. I wish I'd never heard of Zopiclone!

I was considering using a commercial residential clinic but apart from not being able to afford the quoted whopping £2600 am not convinced that they would be able to do anything other than take their clients money.

Today I came across CITAP which is a Liverpool based charity specialism in prescription drug addiction and have contacted them. So much of what I read on their site seems to fit me to a tee.
