Once you contract herpes how long does it take for symptoms to appear?

I was diagnosed with herpes recently and I must say it hit me very hard, as i didn’t not want to hear that what so ever. But my dilemma is that I do not know who gave it to me as I had a regular casual partner and then on a drunken night I engaged in intercourse with someone else, which i really regret but I just really want to have a rough idea of who it’s come from.

There’s really no sure way to tell who you got it from unless you know for a fact you didn’t have herpes before the drunken one night stand guy

you can try to ask both side and tell them your side

Some people never develop symptoms. Those that do, however, typically do so within a week, up to two weeks. That is applicable to most (but not all) symptomatic individuals.

The doctor said  that because I caught the flu when I did that means I would have just recently caught herpes then he said discreetly that as a doctor they not meant to tell me that!
