    Hi there,

I really sympathise with you as I know how horrible panic attacks can be.

I suggest you do some breathing techniques. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth and try to breathe nice and slow.

Also splashing cold water on the back of your neck helps to cool you down or even taking a cold shower. You can also drink water with ice as all these things help to lower your heart rate.

Try to distract yourself as well like thinking about positive things or listening to your favourite music whatever you enjoy doing while you do the breathing.

Grounding is a good technique as well concentrating on what you can see, hear, smell, taste ect. Keeps you focused on your environment rather than the way you feel.

These are some things that have worked for me in the past. Hope this helps.

Sometimes going to the doctors for reassurance can help too. Even if you know it's just anxiety because it gives you peace of mind. Hope you feel better soon.

After a panic attack like that its totally normal to feel groggy and worn out. A panic attack takes so much energy in every muscle of your body, you almost feel like you ran a 10k marathon and had been up for 3 days,

Just try to relax now though 😃

      Best Wishes!

Hello @pamela2016 i suffer from anxiety too, i know its hard, i´ve been dealing with it for 8 years, some years i felt better taking meds, but then it came back the last year and i was very afraid at that time that take meds scary me, so i didn´t took them. Anxiety comes from an overly aprehensive behavior, so i´m trying to change my thoughts and believes, and trying to be more realistic about my symptoms, if we have had anxiety for so long and we are here alive then it´s not very dangerous

@pamela20 ,anxiety is an evil disease! It will run you ragged just from worrying bout it. when you feel it just try to take a little nap like you did. hang in there and if this helps coming here for advice then so be it! whatever might help you then do it . good luck.

i am beside myself right bow with anxiety And have been for a month. I have been getting more shortness of breath and that just sets panic off full-blown. My breast hurt so bad it feels like about six months pregnant and nothing I do makes it better.

I can tell you not to check your blood pressure. Blood pressure varies tremendously from minute to minute depending on your emotional state. If you keep worrying about it and checking it you are guaranteed to get a sky high reading. Stop checking it. Just let it be whatever it is. It is impossible to force yourself to calm down. The very act of trying increases the tension. It is no use trying to distract yourself either because your mind knows what you are trying to do. When you become anxious about the symptoms of anxiety you are adding anxiety to anxiety and are trapped in a vicious circle. The only way to stop it is to accept that you have got some unpleasant physical symptoms. Don't try to get rid of the symptoms but face them head on and accept them. Tell yourself that they can't do you any harm because they really can''t. You need to accept the symptoms and get on with things in spite of them, as you would if you had, say, a muscle pain. It isn't easy but you can do it. When you realise that the symptoms can't hurt you, you will gradually lose your fear of them and they will eventually fade away. It takes a bit of thinking about but it does definitely work. At the moment you are actually causing the symptoms by being afraid of them. This isn't theory. I know it works.
