One month since Rezum procedure

I had the procedure done one month ago yesterday. I had an enlarged prostate so the Urologist had to poke me 11 times. I left his office with a Foley catheter and after four days I had it removed and couldn’t empty my bladder. The pain was so bad I had to go to the ER and they emptied me using another catheter. I wound up going to the ER

4 times with the same issue . Finally my Uroligist taught me to self cath and I did that 3 times a day for 10 days and FINEALLY I started urinating on my own. The problemI have now is I have retro

orgasims, which I dont  like ! I’m afraid the procedure destroyed the ejaculatory tube in the prostate.

I see the Uroligist on May 7th and will discuss that with him.

I don’t have any problem urinating now, but I don’t like the sexual side effect. Reading others comments, if the Uroligist would stay away from the ejaculatory duct with the steam needle there might not be a problem.

I hate to make a comment like this but I hope it will help someone considering Rezum. I considered Rezum when I had to make a decision 18 months ago. The Urologist was selling me hard on this.

I found Focal Laser Ablation by a brilliant doctor in Houston. The reason I went with FLA is because I realized he had full eyes

The good news is that long-term sexual side effects are fairly rare after Rezum (but EVERY ablative procedure has the potential for them.)

You are still early in your healing process, and I wish you the best.
