One of my biggest symptoms of mono has been rashes, despite never taking amoxicillin.

I was never prescribed amoxicillin which is known to cause a rash with mono. About 2 weeks ago, I did take a z pack but that should be out of my system. Now, I'm having terrible full body rashes, usually worse at morning and night. I'm taking a 24hr Zyrtec, occasionally benedryl, and was prescribed Prednisone but I just can't kick the rashes. Is this common and how can I treat it?

    Hi Dillon,

    So sorry to hear you're having these terrible rashes, I really hope they clear up soon. It may well be part of the symptoms of mono, it's always worth talking to the doc about (although I know they don't always seem to understand mono and its full effects!).

    Just want you to know that I do believe you're going to make a full recovery from this and that your rashes will go away completely - just trusting God with this today and believing He will guide you through - hang in there I know it's so hard when dealing with the virus Dillon.
