One Swollen Lymph Node Under Chin

I've had an interesting last 8 weeks!

I'm a 26 year old male, who is overweight (6'2 and 225lbs).

About 8 weeks ago, I found a swollen lymph node under my chin.  I haven't been sick in forever, so I googled what it could be.

Worst choice of my life - hands down.

I've had a really strange set of symptoms since.  The worst is that my throat feels an insane amount of pressure in it and swallowing feels weird.  I'm not struggling to get food down, but it just doesn't feel normal.

On top of that, my doctor said that I have a large amout of mucus in my throat and prescribed me a prescription nasal spray.  I coughed up some thick green mucus this morning, but otherwise I'm simply having what seems to be normal mucus when I clear my nose in the morning (clear or white).

At first, my doctor assumed the throat pressure was from GERD, so we did a two week trial of Omeprazole.  It didn't really help with the throat symptoms.

As such, she's now moved me forward to see an ENT and Endocronlogist after having an ultrasound of my neck.  The lymph node is not all that exciting - roughly 1CM, feels rubbery/firm, and doesn't hurt. However, the ultrasound did also find a feel cmall cystic nodules on my thyroid.  So far, they seem benign, but the Endo will confirm when I see her next month for a dedicated thyroid ultrasound.

I see my ENT on Tuesday of next week and plan on asking for a nasal endoscopy so I can get to the bottom of the throat issues. I don't expect anything bad, but I am curious as to what this all may be.

It truly came out of nowhere and I was always relatively healthy up until this point in my life.  Anybody have recommendations on what to ask my ENT, Endo, and PCP?

Ask for tests of some infections that can cause the lymph node. Most of them dont worry about the cause and treat you symptomatically.

Ryan, I have these same symptoms. I've had it for about 3 weeks. I've been swollen under my jaw on and off for years, but the whole "weird feeling" when swallowing has happened within the last 3 weeks. Did you find any answers? I am setting an appt. next week.
