One year post surgery

Hi,

I broke my right ankle just over a year ago, tib & fib with a dislocation, and had a plate and some screws fitted. Surgery went well, I can walk and run (slowly) and I have been discharged from physio, however my ankle is still sore to touch and I can't sleep on my right side due to the pressure of my ankle touching the mattress. Does anyone know if this is to be expected at this stage or if it is something I need to accept/give more time?

Thanks,
