Ongoing issues with vaginal discharge. Can anyone advise?

I lost my virginity a couple of months ago, and since then i have been having with vaginal discharge and soreness.

Me & my partner have both had STI screenings that have come back as negative, however i did have a swab done at my GP that stated i had bacterial vaginosis. i took treatment for this twice (both times oral treatment) however the problem still persists. it seems to get worse the week leading up to my period. the discharge is a yellow/green colour & sometimes a brownish colour. it is sometimes painful during sex but not always. there is also an unpleasant smell. if it is bacterial vaginosis... does anyone know why it keeps coming back even with treatment? or what else could it be?

    i had bacterial vaginosis too before. ive been with different OB gyne. they prescribed me different medicines and vagina suppositories. it didnt work a lot of times but like what they always tell do not lose hope. it is a trial and error. i did take an oral medicines.. different oral medicines and had different vaginal suppositories but the last prescription worked and after it i always take vitamins c too to boost my immune system. all you need to do is to trust your doctor. tell her the result of the medicines she prescribed. Just trust the process.
