      Hi Bozzer

What jumps to my mind is that it may well be like finding a needle in an expensive haystack ...  anyway your CBT therapist will be able to help you with various relaxation tecniques, mine did.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I have but am a very stiff person haha. Need a hip replacement ( operation postponed due to my anxiety and depression) and have severe arthritis in neck. The anxiety also causes the tense muscles allover. I have a massage every week and do stretching. Cant believe the pain im in when doing so. The annoying thing is that theres is hardly any improvement wich makes it so much harder. I keep it up though. No point giving in.i know that some of my axiety must come from my lack of soorts. I used to play footy tennis golf and used to do an hour of swimming daily. All had to stop due to first thrombosis in my left leg and an open wound in the same leg wich wont heal propper due to the circulation. Nightmare cause i know swimming would be best for my body.i have tried all sorts of special plasters etc but none do the job hence infectionS. Thanks for your response. keep up the good work

Bozzer, have you tried Silvadene on your leg? I was an orthopedic surgeon's assistant for 5 years, and we did hip and knee replacements, along with all surgeries done by orthopedic surgeons. Silvadene is expensive, but when we had a patient who was having a hard time healing, we used Silvadene to help, and it usually did. Silvadene is made primarily for burns, but works well for other wounds as well. It isn't painful, and is easily applied. Just a thought. Good luck!

I saw a counsellor for a while about 10yrs ago and it really was the best thing I've ever done. I really was at a point where I couldn't care if I lived or died, I just felt numb all the time. I think counselling should be readily available to everyone for an hour a week, just talking to someone does help. I'm not sure I would consider online counselling but I've never heard of it before. If you are willing to pay for that, I think it would be better to pay for face to face counselling. I'm assuming you are Bristish so would you not be able to get it all free over there with our health insurance?

Its akways nearly closed when i have to go back to work. Eventhough i always wear my men tights lol my leg always swells due to long hours stood up causing the wound widen again. have tried many different paches creams gels etc but will defenately mention your sugestion. Got spanish national health and are looking in to it. I myself think face to face counseling would be better as well. Just come across it and wondered if anybody had any experiences with it. The 1 plus point i see is that they keep you posted very ofton and you can get in touch more easily instead of maybe having to wait a week. They also have forums like on here. Will have a good look around. Thanks a million

Why can't they suture the wound with prolene sutures, whitch won't cause a problem, and just leave them in until it has completely healed? Just a thought
