OOPS

I think I have a problem.  Have felt that things are going so much better than first surgery in March until today that is.  I am able to bear weight on operated leg and when I tried to stand up straight my operated leg foot touched the floor and the other foot hovered above the floor.  Am I in serious trouble here?

Hi Isabelle my first leg was an inch longer than my unoperated leg, it is the space is taken up wihere the bones wore away, are you getting the second one done?

sure you wont feel any different in shoes, I never noticed it at all and now mine are the same length, but call your surgeons secretary or drop him an email and ask.

    Kind regards Ian.

    dear isabelle,

i know what you mean .... you are so early in your recovery from the 2nd THR surgery, so your leg , hip , body is still adjusting and settling - this might take a couple of weeks ...

I am 9+ weeks of 2nd THR and sometimes feel as if operated leg is shorter - Had my follow up appointment on November 10 and was told that legs were same length now --- still need to work on walking properly and getting muscles in both legs stronger ...

I am  happy for you that you are doing so well ...

    Big warm hug

Thanks Renee. You have made me feel much better. Had op one week ago and went shopping today for granddaughter's birthday gift. Sssssssoooooo far ahead of last time. Will likely sleep all afternoon. Lol

I am pre op, but would suggest that you contact your GP if this is a new development.  111 may be a good option, they will go through our symptoms and ake thee appropriate referral.  You may want to call the hospital where you hd the surgery.

All thes, I am sure I can be sorted, but if you are worried, which you obviously are, make the phone calls.
